Pores/Scars
Can acne scar treatment be done only with PicoFractional? <Guide>
Hello,
This is Ulsan Snow Clinic ^^
"Will just getting PicoFractional improve my scars?"
"I had Fraxel several times before, but nothing has changedㅠ"
If you are struggling with acne scars,
you might have had these worries quite a lot.
And to be honest...
scar treatment is not easy ^^;
It's not a matter of suddenly becoming smooth after one or two treatments,
and the reason for inconsistent results
is not simply about whether to use "Pico" or not.

So, among the acne scar treatments, the most frequently asked question is about
'PicoFractional treatment',
I would like to talk about a guide to acne scar treatment.
Please focus for just 3 minutes from now.
1. Limitations of existing methods?
"I had 10 sessions of Fraxel, but nothing has changed"
"I had CO2 treatment and it turned red, but only pigmentation remains..."
Are you familiar with these kinds of reviews? Hehe
First, the old method, CO2 Fraxel (ablative laser),
actually removes the skin surface to induce regeneration,
so while the effects are certain, the costs are not negligible.
- Severe redness for several days
- Scabs, swelling
- Risk of pigmentation
- Possibility of secondary scarring during recovery...
It felt like peeling off old wallpaper completely.

This is a CO2 fractional laser, which is ablative.
So, what emerged was
'PicoFractional'
That's right.
PicoFractional minimizes surface damage,
and delivers energy only to the dermis layer.
Quick recovery
Low pain
Easy return to daily life
This has become a popular method
that many people are seeking these days.
However, there is a big misunderstanding here.. hehe
2. Is PicoFractional 'all-purpose'?
"I heard it doesn't hurt and is good.. so Pico should be fine?"
"Does this mean we don't need CO2 anymore?"
More and more people are thinking that 'Pico is enough'.
^^;
Certainly, PicoFractional is a good device and
the risk of side effects is relatively low.
However, it is not a device that completely resolves the structure of acne scars.

This is the PicoSure device used in PicoFractional.
To summarize the features of PicoFractional,
Advantages
Quick recovery (2-3 days)
Minimal pain
Comprehensive improvement of pores, scars, blemishes, etc.
Low burden on red skin
Limitations
Gradual changes, less immediacy
Good for shallow, wide scars
Fundamental limitations for 'deep and narrow' scars like ice pick scars
Significant individual differences
Repeated treatments are essential (in some cases, more than 5-10 sessions may be required)
In other words, saying "just doing Pico will solve all scars"
is too simplistic, haha.
Especially for deep scars,
the fibrous tissue is pulling from beneath the skin,
Without the process of 'releasing that tissue (subcision)',
repeating Pico alone may result in limited changes.

These are the people who
"I had Pico done, but...
why am I the only one not seeing results?"
This is what they say ^^;
3. Pre-Treatment Checklist
Now, this is the most important part.
It is a criterion to determine whether PicoFractional alone is possible,
or if CO2, subcision, or radiofrequency and collagen regeneration
should be performed in conjunction.
① The type of my scar
- Rolling type (circular indentation) Pico + Subcision
- Box type (distinct edges) Fractional (Pico + CO2 combination) + Needle RF
- Ice pick (punctured shape) Pico + Collagen booster

Types of scars: Pitted, Round, Box, Keloid
In other words, the approach to scars varies completely by type.
Such combination treatments are difficult to assess accurately without
skin diagnosis and structural evaluation.
Absolutely!
Using precision diagnostic devices like Markview,
the depth, width, and type of scars must be analyzed objectively.
② My Lifestyle Patterns
- If you need minimal downtime like office workers or students
-> Focus on PicoFractional and Potenza
- If you want to focus on improvement during vacations or holidays
-> Consider combining CO2 and subcision
③ Realistic Expectations
"I want to see a noticeable change at once!"
-> A strong approach including CO2 and subcision is necessary
"I hope it gets better slowly without being noticeable"
-> Possible with Pico alone
This may not be what you want to hear, but..
scar treatment is definitely not a short-term treatment that ends in just 3-4 sessions.
(It's the same wherever you go)
Most require at least 3-6 months,
and a systematic plan is necessary to achieve consistent regeneration...
When you start, you need to do it 'properly'
so that you don't waste time and money, and just end up with irritation ^^
Conclusion
PicoFractional is a good device.
However, it is not the only solution for acne scar treatment.
Considering the diversity of scars and skin responsiveness,
it can be a standalone treatment,
or combination therapy may be necessary.
What's important is not the "equipment name"
but to accurately know the approach needed for my scar before starting.
If you are troubled by scars,
do not start recklessly,
and I recommend getting an accurate diagnosis first ^^
