Botox/Fillers

Botox side effects? We will tell you the correct way to administer it.

    2

Hello

This is Ulsan Snow Clinic. ^^

"I got Botox, but my expressions look so awkward."
"The effects disappeared too quickly."

Botox has now become a relatively common procedure with a low entry barrier,

isn't it? Hehe

However, the honest reality is that there are just as many people who regret it as there are those who are satisfied. ^^;

Why is that?

Botox is not simply a procedure that 'eliminates muscles'.

The results depend on how naturally you can leave the movement of the facial muscles

while precisely adjusting only the necessary areas,

this is where the outcome lies.

Today, from the perspective of a current physician,
I will discuss "how to get Botox done well" in a bit more detail.

Please focus for just 3 minutes.

1. More is definitely not better

"If you put in a little more, it will last longer, right?"

This question is asked very often.

The answer is 'No' though. Hehe

Muscle thickness varies from person to person,

and usage habits are different as well.

Even in the same area, some people may need only 30 units,

while others may require 50 units.

What’s the key point here?

'Having a large volume does not necessarily guarantee better results'

is the point.

In fact, excessive injection

can lead to muscle paralysis, making expressions awkward,

and may cause functional decline.

For example, if Botox is excessively injected into the square jaw,

the jaw may lose strength, making it difficult to chew food,

and if it spreads to the salivary glands,

it can cause the cheeks to sink or disrupt the facial line ^^;

So what happens if you use too little volume?

Of course, it will be difficult to feel the effects properly.

"I spent money but there’s no change."

Many of those who undergo treatment

are cases of insufficient volume.

The key is 'appropriate amount'.

Accurately diagnosing your muscle response and cycle

and planning to administer only as much as needed

is the most ideal approach.

2. A 1mm difference changes the results

"Isn't it just a matter of injecting in that area?"

Many people think of Botox as just a simple injection,

but in reality, it is a procedure where anatomical accuracy is very important.

The face has layers of large and small muscles intertwined,

and even a misalignment of just 1mm can affect other muscles.

For example,

- If the medication spreads to the forehead muscles instead of the glabellar muscles, the eyelids may droop,
- If the lower part of the jaw muscle is improperly touched, asymmetry may occur with one side of the mouth drooping,

- If the salivary gland area is improperly injected, symptoms such as dry mouth and difficulty swallowing may appear.

Before the procedure, it is essential to directly check the movement of the facial muscles,

and to meticulously check the direction of expressions and the balance of strength.

If this process is omitted,

no matter how good the medication is, achieving satisfactory results is difficult ^^;

3. Botox by Area - Purpose and Points to Note

Botox is used in various ways across the entire face.
However, each purpose and risk point is different.

Let me summarize it briefly in a table.

AreaPurpose of ProcedurePossible Side Effects from Incorrect Injection
ForeheadWrinkle reduction, softening between the eyebrowsEyelid drooping, eyebrow descent, awkward expressions
GlabellaReduction of Frown LinesEyebrow Asymmetry, Heavy Forehead, Eye Fatigue
Eye AreaReduction of fine lines and wrinkles that appear when smilingEye puffiness and asymmetry when smiling
Square Jaw (Masseter)Jawline Slimming, Improvement of Teeth GrindingChewing Discomfort, Sunken Cheeks, Jawline Asymmetry
Salivary Gland (Parotid Gland)Reduction of Lower Facial Swelling and Angular AppearanceDry Mouth, Decreased Saliva Production, Difficulty Swallowing
Around the cheekbonesAsymmetry when smiling, volume adjustmentDrooping of one corner of the mouth, expression imbalance
Body areas such as the trapezius and calvesLine improvement, muscle tension reliefWeakness, fatigue, changes in walking and posture

4. Ultimately, it is a matter of 'skill level'

Botox may seem like a procedure that anyone can undergo,
but the results can vary greatly depending on the experience and judgment of the medical staff.

As mentioned earlier,

- Determining the appropriate dosage for each individual

- Accurate positioning in 1mm increments

- Setting intervals based on muscle response

- Design considering facial balance

All of these judgments are made by

ultimately the experience and skill of a seasoned medical professional ^^

Even with the same amount and the same product,

if the eye that reads the muscles and the sense of balance are different,

completely different results will emerge.

Especially with Botox, it takes about 2 weeks after the procedure

for the final results to appear,

"How this patient's muscles will react"

The ability to predict this in advance is necessary.

This is not something that can be learned from a textbook.

By performing hundreds, thousands of cases directly

you must experience various muscle types and reaction patterns

to truly grasp the sensation.

And one more important fact is...

if side effects occur,

the discomfort will entirely fall on the patient.

Even if your expression becomes awkward, and it's uncomfortable to chew food,

you need to endure that state for at least 3 to 4 months until the effect wears off.

I have actually seen many people who thought, "It can't be that serious" and ended up enduring discomfort for months ^^;

So I really think it's important to choose a clinic carefully from the beginning ㅎㅎ

Summary

Botox may seem easy and common,

but it is one of the most delicate procedures to perform accurately.

Appropriateness of Volume

Accuracy of Location

Skilled Judgment

When these three elements are in harmony,

natural and stable results are achieved.

Botox is not just a "procedure to change the face,"

but a medical technique for designing expressions and impressions.

Rather than choosing based solely on 'low prices',

I hope you receive safe and effective treatments through thorough consultations ^^
